How do we break the silence and find the words to talk about child sexual abuse?
CSA survivors come from all backgrounds and all parts of society, but our experiences are hidden and taboo. Society doesn’t talk enough about CSA, and survivors often lack the words to speak up about their abuse.  An ABC of CSA is a creative resource to support better conversations about child sexual abuse. In collaboration with over 40 CSA survivors through Women's Centre Cornwall, moMENtum, SARSAS and Devon Rape Crisis, Viv Gordon Company has co-created a beautiful set of illustrated alphabet cards, illustrated by Artist Imogen Harvey-Lewis, the designer behind Cutting Out.  Coinciding with Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week 2023, the illustrations will be exhibited at MakeTank, Exeter, from 6th to 11th February 2023, alongside a free week-long programme of creative workshops, performance and film.
The exhibition is open to all. Some of the workshops/events are for CSA survivors and allies or for social service specialists only.Â
All events are free to attend but pre-booking is required for workshops due to limited capacity. Booking for evening events is preferred, although walk ups are welcome. Please book through Viv Gordon's website by clicking the RSVP button.
