About the event
On April 16 at 11:30 a.m., the Ukrainian Orthodox Easter service and the blessing of Easter cakes and Easter eggs according to the Ukrainian tradition will be held for the first time in Exeter at St. Peter's Cathedral.
The service will be celebrated in Ukrainian by an Orthodox chaplain, Fr. Yevhen from London, who is a descendant of Ukrainian immigrants and serves at the London Cathedral of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in the UK.
A prayer for Ukraine and the Ukrainian army will be read during the service.
The first Ukrainian Divine Liturgy in Exeter will be held with the permission of the Exeter Eparchy and with the blessing of the Consistory of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in Great Britain at the invitation of the Devon Ukrainian Association.
We invite all interested Ukrainians and their English hosts and friends to come to the service on April 16 at 11.30 am at St. Peter's Cathedral, Exeter, UK: 1 The Cloisters, Exeter EX1 1HS. And then celebrate Easter at MakeTank (5 Paris Str.) at 13:00.
You can bring Easter cakes and Easter eggs, which, according to Ukrainian tradition, will be blessed during the service. You can also bring something tasty to share at our celebration at Maketank at 13:00.
