About the event

Collage Club - World Collage Day workshop - Fight the Power!

11am - 1pm. Pay What You Can (£5 - £10 suggested).

Work with pictures rescued from old books to create new stories about heroic futures!

As an output of Inky Fingers' recycled notebook making, we have a growing selection of images, photographs and illustrations. We run a regular, themed Collage Club and will be marking World Collage Day with a delve into early and mid-20th Century illustrations and cartoons about action, adventure, champions and heroes.

Come and make your cartoon-strip stories about the futures you would like to be a part of!

We will encourage you to develop your ideas through a contemporary, activist lens - Fight oppression! Save the Bees! Eliminate the heteronormative patriarchy! All property is theft! MAKE TOTAL DESTROY!

About Inky Fingers

Inky Fingers Printshop is a repurposing project with high environmental and social values. We make notebooks from old hardback books and gift tags from post-consumer office surplus. Our volunteer team share a passion for doing good by example and supporting each other in our endeavours. Tasks involve measuring, cutting, binding and glueing using a variety of machines and tools.

Our notebooks are graded by the quality of our work, not size or scarcity of the covers. Each has been fitted with new fly-leaves, usually illustrations and photographs that we've rescued from other books; and the pages are post-consumer waste paper - they're randomly assorted including colours, graph, laid and lined papers. Each book is unique and a one-off. They make a personal and characterful addition to any busy or creative person's arsenal, for doodling, listing, sketching or even plotting out that next big project.
